St Croix Falls, WI Community AutumnFest Celebration Still On 100% Despite Gov't Shutdown

Saturday's St Croix Falls Overlook AutumnFest Activities and Art Fair Moving to Public Library Grounds: Rain Expected

As a proactive measure to keep the SCF AutumnFest Event enjoyable and shielded from rain, event organizers have moved Saturday's scheduled Overlook entertainment programs, The Art Fair and Food Vendors to the SCF Public Library Grounds.

The Mammoth Gravel Bike Ride, Festival Theatre show and Pie Eating Contest remain at their scheduled places and times.

Any up to date news can be found at

"The Library is just a Wonderful spot for the planned activities," says event coordinator Woody McBride. "Inside will be the entertainment programs and outside the Library Plaza will be buzzing with action all day - live music, the Farmers Market and the Falls Chamber of Commerce Arts & Crafts Fair."

The weather forecast for Saturday in St Croix Falls shows an 80% chance of rain, wind and probable thunderstorms.

"We have great artists from all over the region on their way to St Croix Falls tomorrow," says Falls Chamber Art Fair Director Catherine Veith-Bruno. "And moving our campus to the St Croix Falls Public Library plaza makes sense en lieu of the forecast - it is charming, it has facilities and festival goers can duck out of the rain if need be"

The St Croix Falls community fall celebration AutumnFest is still on 100%, despite minor rescheduling of two DNR events due to the US Government Shutdown. "The DNR has been very accommodating with advancing the possibility of the shut down," says McBride. "We knew that we would take over some of their programs that day if there was a shut down - and a couple of their programs are simply rescheduled tba."

The 100/70/30 mile Mammoth Gravel Classic Bike Ride will launch as planned from The Overlook or (if needed the Cyclova XC shop just 1/2 block away.) More info visit

The Pie Eating Contest will remain at the Dalles House Bakery and Coffee House on Main street St Croix Falls as well.

All Festival Theatre shows remain scheduled as planned. More info visit

Today, Friday October 3, The Lion's Park Family River Hike at 4 p.m. and SCF Library Birthday Dance Party and Reception at 7 p.m. will stay at the same times and places as planned.
